WHAT
WE DO

PROGRAMS & PROJECTS.

Community Conservation

By supporting locals and ecotourism, we favor a reconciliation between humans and wildlife in areas that need it the most. We believe that empowering local communities is crucial for long-term conservation success. Our initiatives focus on:

  • Creating sustainable economic opportunities: We partner with local communities to develop and support ecotourism ventures that benefit both people and wildlife. This can include guiding services, locally-owned accommodations, and the sale of handcrafted goods.

  • Building local capacity for conservation: We provide training and resources to community members, enabling them to become stewards of their natural heritage. This includes skills in wildlife monitoring, habitat management, and sustainable resource use.

  • Fostering cultural understanding and respect: We work to bridge the gap between human activities and wildlife needs, promoting coexistence through education and collaborative projects that address human-wildlife conflict.

Stop Wildlife Crime

We are dedicated to prevent poaching and to foster dialogue for stronger enforcement and community-led protection of wildlife. Our efforts include:

  • Supporting anti-poaching patrols: We provide resources and training to local rangers and law enforcement agencies to enhance their capacity to combat illegal wildlife trade.

  • Raising awareness about wildlife crime: We conduct public awareness campaigns to educate communities about the devastating impacts of poaching and the importance of protecting endangered species.

  • Collaborating with stakeholders: We work with governments, NGOs, and local communities to develop and implement effective strategies for preventing wildlife crime and ensuring justice for offenders.

Early Education

We believe that nurturing a love for nature starts young. Our early education initiatives aim to cultivate environmental awareness and a sense of responsibility in the next generation, fostering a future where humans and wildlife thrive together. We focus on:

  • Inspiring Young Minds: Through engaging and age-appropriate activities, we introduce children to the wonders of the natural world, sparking curiosity and a desire to learn about local ecosystems and the importance of conservation.

  • Connecting with Nature: We provide opportunities for hands-on experiences in nature, allowing children to develop a direct connection with wildlife and their habitats, fostering empathy and respect for living creatures.

  • Building Foundational Knowledge: We introduce basic concepts of biodiversity, the interconnectedness of ecosystems, and the impact of human actions on the environment, laying the groundwork for future environmental stewardship.

  • Empowering Future Stewards: By instilling a sense of care and responsibility at an early age, we empower children to become advocates for conservation within their families and communities, contributing to long-term environmental sustainability.

Marine Conservation

We are deeply committed to safeguarding our oceans and the incredible biodiversity they hold. Our marine conservation initiatives focus on:

  • Protecting critical marine habitats: We work to establish and manage marine protected areas to conserve coral reefs, seagrass beds, and other vital ecosystems.

  • Combating marine pollution: We organize clean-up initiatives and advocate for policies to reduce plastic pollution and other threats to marine life.

  • Promoting sustainable fishing practices: We collaborate with local fishing communities to encourage responsible fishing methods that minimize impact on marine populations.

  • Monitoring marine biodiversity: We conduct research and monitoring programs to understand the health of marine ecosystems and inform conservation strategies.

Forest Restoration

By helping to restore natural habitats, we are supporting the rewilding of areas previously harvested for their resources. We are committed to revitalizing degraded ecosystems and enhancing biodiversity through:

  • Reforestation and afforestation projects: We actively plant native trees and vegetation to restore lost forest cover, focusing on species that are crucial for local wildlife.

  • Habitat enhancement: We implement strategies to improve the quality of existing habitats, such as removing invasive species, creating wildlife corridors, and restoring natural water flows.

  • Community involvement in restoration: We engage local communities in the restoration process, providing opportunities for participation in tree planting, seed collection, and monitoring efforts.

Environmental Policy

We strive to influence environmental policy at local, regional, and national levels to create a more sustainable future for both wildlife and people. Our work in this area involves:

  • Advocacy and lobbying: We engage with policymakers to promote the adoption of stronger environmental regulations and conservation measures.

  • Research and analysis: We conduct research to provide evidence-based recommendations for policy development and implementation.

  • Public awareness campaigns: We educate the public about key environmental policy issues and encourage citizen engagement in the political process.

  • Collaboration with other organizations: We partner with other environmental groups and stakeholders to amplify our voice and achieve greater impact.
